The tour starts in Slovenia, the green heart of Europe with a ride through Triglav National Park valleys and lakes with stunning views to the peaks. From Slovenia we cross the border on two wheels to Italy riding on the Aple Adria cyling path, constantly discovering new astonishing Alpine landscapes. The amusement never ends as you sleep in a gorgeous 12th century castle in the heart of Friuli's Collio area, which produces some of Italy's best white wines! From Italy we move to Istria, largest Croatian penninsula where the scenery is continuously changing, from green rolling hills, pine forests, vineyards and olive groves to the sparkling azure sea lapping the coastline.

Day 1

ARRIVAL TO BLED BIKE FITTING AND WARM-UP RIDE AROUND LAKE BLED 6 mi.

The meeting with tour leaders and the rest of the group will take place on the hotel entrance at 3.00 P.M. We will have a bike fitting and warm-up ride around Lake Bled. There you will get detailed information about the tour and daily timetable.

Day 2

After the morning transfer to Pokljuka area, we will begin our ride towards Lake Bohinj. On the way, we will pass through the alpine village of Studor, and try the famous Bohinj cheese and Štruklji.

Today’s ride is through the Radovna Valley, where we will make a short stop at a local farm. We will continue along the cycling trail that crosses the mountain river over several bridges. The ride through the typical alpine landscape will bring us to Kranjska Gora, host town for the World Cup ski race.

We will take the Alpe-Adria Cycle Trail from Kranjska Gora via Tarvisio towards the town of Resiutta in Italy. The Alpe Adria Cycle Trail is an unforgettable experience. Alpine landscapes, peaceful villages and more than 20 tunnels and bridges.

Today we have two options: challenge yourself and cycle up to Vršič Pass or take the tour by van, stopping at the Russian Prisoner’s Church, and enjoy a short hike around the Vršič Pass. After a long descent, we will come upon the turquoise waters of the Soča River and the remarkable limestone peaks of Triglav National Park. After a short transfer, we will reach our hotel in Italy. For our farewell dinner, we will enjoy the Friulian specialties at a Michelin restaurant.
Day 6

In the morning, we start with a circular ride in the best-known wine region, called Goriška Brda, with Slovenia on one side and Italy on the other. We will stop to taste the best known red wines at one winery and superlative white wines from the Collio region at another. For a lunch, we will enjoy the San Daniele prosciutto and other Friulian specialties at a great local restaurant. After the lunch is a transfer to your Hotel in Novigrad, Croatia

Departing the hotel, we will set off and ride through the ancient town of Poreč. Dotted with fascinating historical sites and magical mosaics. After visiting Poreč we continue biking towards the quiet Istrian interior. On route towards Rovinj, we will pass the ruins of an old castle, Dvigrad, and stop to taste Istria's best known wine, Malvasija, at a local winery. The afternoon is free, with time for swimming or sightseeing in beautiful Rovinj.

In the morning we visit Olive oil mill and the lively medieval village of Svetvinčenat which features the famous Grimaldi Castle, named after the Venetian family that bought it and renovated it in the 16th century. After prosciutto tasting, we continue towards Pula which often considered the capital of the area. Pula is the home of the famous Roman amphitheater.

GROŽNJAN - MOTOVUN - LJUBLJANA 31mi. Show more detail Hide more detail

After a short transfer to Buje, we will start cycling towards Grožnjan – a town of artists. The route continues along the ridge of a hill, with stunning vistas over the surrounding towns on the hilltops. We will make a stop in the Motovun Forest, and have the opportunity to try the truffles this region is famous for. The day ends with a walk through beautiful Motovun, the best known town in central Istria. The tour ends with a transfer to Ljubljana.
