We suggest flying into Split’s Saint Jerome Airport (SPU) and departing from Dubrovnik’s Ruđer Bošković Airport (DBV). Some guests choose to book a round-trip flight to either Split or Dubrovnik and return to their starting point by catamaran boat.

Day 1
Arrival to Split
Upon arrival in Split, you’ll step into a world where history and culture intertwine seamlessly. Begin your journey by exploring Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned as the world’s best-preserved Roman palace. Built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century, this architectural marvel is more than just a palace—it’s a living part of Split’s old town, filled with vibrant streets, hidden courtyards, and ancient walls that tell centuries of stories.
The meeting with the tour leaders and the rest of the group will be held at the hotel reception. Here, you will receive detailed information about the tour and schedule. This will be followed by a sumptuous dinner at one of the finest restaurants in Split.

Day 2
Island of Brač
Today our cycling route takes place on the island of Brač, the largest island in Central Dalmatia. Known by the ancient Romans for its quarries of limestone and dolomite quarries, its characteristic white stone has been used for centuries. Brač will capture your heart with numerous hidden coves, beaches and turquoise bays, while its high quality olive oil is a true delight.After a ferry ride, we begin our journey from Supetar, cycling along the picturesque coast on a tranquil road that winds through olive groves and ancient vineyards. After exploring the island’s charming old villages, we’ll continue our loop ride, cruising downhill along the breathtaking turquoise bays, eventually returning to Supetar. While waiting for the ferry back to Split, take the chance to unwind with a swim, or relax with a coffee or gelato by the sea.

Day 3
Island of Hvar
Our visit to the aromatic Hvar Island begins with a scenic ride to Stari Grad, passing through the ancient Stari Grad fields, a UNESCO-protected site with a rich history spanning 2,400 years. We will see the picturesque towns of Vrbanj and Svirče before arriving in the charming town of Jelsa. Here, we will savor a typical Mediterranean lunch at a seaside restaurant. After lunch, we will continue along the stunning coastal road to Vrboska, known as “Little Venice” due to its quaint small bridges. This route is one of the most beautiful coastal roads on our tour. For those interested, an optional climb over the hill offers breathtaking views of the surrounding islands as we descend into the vibrant town of Hvar and reach our hotel.

Tucked away in a tranquil bay, surrounded by a lush pine grove, and only a short ten minute walk from the historic city of Hvar, Amfora. Island of Hvar and Korčula
Our cycling expedition traverses the breathtaking and untamed terrain of the magnificent island of Hvar. We will ride along the island ridge, offering panoramic views of the islands of Korčula and Brač, as well as the majestic Mt. Biokovo. Along the way, we will cycling through the lavander fields and several charming old villages where you can stop to purchase lavender, olive oil, and wine from the locals. After a delightful lunch, we will take a private boat transfer to the island of Korčula.

Island of Korčula
Today’s ride begins with a leisurely start, allowing you to savor a morning coffee while enjoying the picturesque view of Korčula Old Town. This charming Venetian village, known as the birthplace of Marco Polo, is rich in history and beauty. In the afternoon, we’ll explore its quaint, pedestrian-only streets. Our adventure starts from the hotel, offering two enticing options: a circular tour featuring invigorating climbs and stunning views over the Pelješac Channel, or a more relaxed coastal tour with no climbs. After lunch, we’ll have the opportunity to swim at the sandy beach.

Day 6
Peninsula Pelješac and Dubrovnik
We have saved the best day for last. Today, we’ll embark on a short boat transfer to the picturesque hills of the Pelješac peninsula, renowned for Croatia’s finest red wines: Dingač and Postup. As we traverse miles of scenic vineyards along the famous “Plavac mali” wine roads, we’ll pause to taste the acclaimed local wines. Our ride culminates in the historic town of Ston, celebrated for the longest fortified city wall in Europe and its ancient salt works. After lunch, we’ll bid farewell to our guides and transfer you to the majestic stone walls of Dubrovnik, one of the world’s most beautifully preserved medieval cities.

Our cycling tours vary in different activity levels, including recreational, active, and challenging options. Almost each day we several routes, allowing you to select the ideal level of activity that suits you best.

Ideal for beginners. Youare being active but feel like you can maintain for 2-3 hours.
Active – Up to 4h
You ride your bike on a weekly basis and are comfortablew with rides of 4 hours or more. Requires a spirit of adventure and some fitness requirements.
Challenging – 4 + h
You ride your bike an average of 70 miles per week and enjoy a fast pace. Fintess is imperative at this level, as the enviroment may be more remote and challenging.
Keep in mind that for more active cyclist traveling with a beginner, our guides are happy to take you out for extra rides.

Please note that the start or finish times of optional rides often differ from those of regular group rides. This is an island hopping tour, so some optional rides on certain islands depend on transfers and ferry schedules. Guests who opt for the longest unsupported rides might return by ferry without a group, depending on their fitness level.
The topography of the Dalmatian coast features consistently rolling terrain, making the routes feel more challenging than their distances might imply.

What is Croatia’s climate like?
The Croatian coast and its islands are characterized by a Mediterranean climate. In the summer, the mean temperature is between 24°C and 26°C along the coast, though the temperature can be a couple degrees warmer towards the south of the country.
The nation’s sunniest island is Hvar, with over 2,700 hours of sun per year, though the other islands and the southern coast around Dubrovnik can also boast of being very sunny. The coastal climate is also characterized by winds. The most frequent wind along the southern coast and islands is the “Mistral” wind, which is a pleasant, mid-afternoon breeze blowing from the sea towards the coast.
What is the currency in Croatia, and is it possible to pay with other currencies?
The Croatian currency is Euro, and no other currencies are accepted. However, just about all restaurants and shop accept credit and debit cards.
How much money should I bring, and where can I exchange my money to Euro?
Our guided tours are virtually all-inclusive, so you will not need to carry much cash. You can exchange your money for Euro in authorized exchange shops in the hotels and near the hotels. There are also numerous ATMs, so you can withdraw Euros from the bank machine.
Where should I arrive to and depart from?
Guests who have booked the 9-day National Parks tour should arrive in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia, and depart from Dubrovnik.
Guests who have booked the 6-day Dalmatia tour should arrive in Split and depart from Dubrovnik.
Guests who have booked the 9-day Slovenia, Italy, and Croatia tour should arrive in and depart from Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia.

How can I get back to Split from Dubrovnik, and vice versa?
Most of our guests arrive by plane to Split and depart from Dubrovnik. If you wish to return back to Split or vice versa, you can hire a private shuttle, or take the bus or fast ship lines ( https://www.krilo.hr/en/sailing-schedule/ ).
What are the roads like in Croatia? Is there a lot of traffic?
We usually ride on secondary paved roads, with a low level of car traffic.
How many people are on a tour?
Our tours include an average of about 16 people, with a maximum number of 20. We have set these numbers to ensure that our tours are an opportunity for getting to know all the participants, and for new friendships.
How fit do I need to be?
Our tours allow you to decide how much you want to ride. Depending on the route you choose and your pace, most days include 3 to 5 hours of riding time. There are different levels of activity you can choose, from recreational (2-3 hours), to active (3-4 hours), to advanced (4-6 hours per day). Our tours are tailored for those who are reasonably fit.
Are there any age limits?
We place no upper limit on age, as the main constraint is your fitness level.
Tours are not recommended for young children, however, children over the age of 14 are welcome to join our family groups.
How do you support all different rider types on the same tour?
Our tour guide cycles with you along the route. Our group is accompanied by a support van, which is there to assist for difficult climbs, or to allow you to combine riding with driving and sightseeing. Together, these guides ensure that riders of all levels can enjoy the routes.
Should I purchase travel insurance for my trip?
We advise obtaining a travel protection plan with the following components: Coverage for medical expenses due to accidents or sickness related to a covered illness or injury, as well as protection against trip cancellation.
What is included in the lunch and dinner?
Lunch includes one meal of your choice from the menu, water and one beverage of your choice.
Dinner includes three courses: appetizer, main course, and dessert, with water and one beverage of your choice.
We offer meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan menus. There is also the possibility of a special meal for persons with celiac disease.
Will I have to carry my own luggage?
Our support van accompanies us on every ride, so you need not worry, anything you need with you for the day’s ride can be carried in the van.
What should I pack?
We have prepared a detailed packing list to help you out.
If I book a tour can I be sure that will be run?
All our trips are guaranteed to run.
Will someone meet us at the airport?
Your driver will be waiting for you in the airport arrival hall, holding a sign with the name you provided during the booking process. Our drivers usually enter the arrival hall 15 minutes after the actual flight landing, allowing you sufficient time to clear customs and claim your luggage.
If you cannot locate your driver right away, please contact us or the driver by phone. Most airports offer free WiFi, allowing you to reach us via email as well. Our office manager will ensure the driver finds you promptly.

Can I bring my own bike?
Our bicycles, including the one provided as part of the package at no extra cost, are in great condition and well-maintained. We encourage our guests to make the most of them, and for those seeking an even more enhanced cycling experience, our company also offers optional bike upgrades.
Alternatively, if you prefer, you can bring your own road bike. Please note the following guidelines: Additional charges apply for airport transfers, we do not handle the assembly or disassembly of bikes, and you are responsible for bringing your spare parts. Please be aware that our company is not responsible for any damage or loss of personal bikes and/or equipment that guests choose to bring.
What kind of pedals do you use?
We offer flat pedals. Flat pedals have no special grips and can be used with any type of footwear, and no special bicycle shoes are required (you can wear normal trainers). For those accustomed to special pedal systems, you are welcome to bring them and we will be happy to fit them to your bike.
What type of pre and post-trip services are provided?
Cycling Croatia Tours include basic pre and post-trip planning and support, to ensure you are always taken care of and that you never miss a thing. Our travel experts are here to help you with all stages of the planning process.
How much should I tip to our guides?
The package price does not cover tips for the guides. The usual rate is US$250 per person or US$500 per couple for a tour. Tipping is entirely optional and depends on your satisfaction with the level of care and service. There is no obligation to leave a tip in hotels, bars, or any other highlights organized by Cycling Croatia.
