Day 1

ARRIVAL TO BLED BIKE FITTING AND WARM-UP RIDE AROUND LAKE BLED 6 mi.

Upon your arrival at the enchanting Lake Bled, you will meet with the tour leaders and the rest of the group at the hotel entrance at 3:00 PM. We will then proceed with a bike fitting and a leisurely warm-up ride around the picturesque Lake Bled. During this time, you will receive detailed information about the tour and the daily schedule.

After a scenic morning transfer to the picturesque Pokljuka area, we will embark on our ride towards the stunning Lake Bohinj, the largest natural permanent lake in Slovenia. Along the way, we will pass through the charming alpine village of Studor, where we will sample the renowned Bohinj cheese and delightful Štruklji. After the ride, you will have the afternoon to enjoy the enchanting beauty of Lake Bled.

Today’s ride takes us through the picturesque Radovna Valley, where we will pause briefly at a charming local farm. We will then venture deeper into the iconic Julian Alps along a scenic cycling trail that crosses the mountain river via several bridges. This journey through the quintessential alpine landscape leads us to Kranjska Gora, the renowned host town for the World Cup ski race. We will also visit Planica, a sports paradise nestled beneath the majestic Ponce mountains. This Slovenian cradle of ski jumping and flying is truly magnificent year-round.

We will embark on the Alpe-Adria Cycle Trail from the picturesque Kranjska Gora, passing through the charming town of Tarvisio, and heading towards Resiutta in Italy. The Alpe Adria Cycle Trail is a breathtaking cross-border long-distance route that seamlessly connects the majestic Alps with the serene Adriatic Sea. By integrating historic railway tracks and numerous tunnels, this trail transforms the Alpine crossing into a delightful and scenic cycling adventure.

Start the day with a ride through an Alpine region marked by World War I history. Choose between an exhilarating bike ride up Vršič Pass or a scenic van tour with stops at the Russian Prisoner’s Church and a short hike around the pass. After descending, we'll admire the turquoise Soča River and the limestone peaks of Triglav National Park. A brief transfer takes us to a medieval castle wine estate for a delightful wine tasting. For our farewell dinner, we will savor Friulian specialties at a Michelin-recommended restaurant, making for a truly memorable conclusion to our journey.

In the serene morning, we embark on a scenic circular ride through the renowned wine region of Collio, nestled between the picturesque landscapes of Slovenia and Italy. Collio is celebrated as one of the world's most distinctive and exceptional white wine regions. The Collio Experience offers a splendid opportunity to savor the exquisite wines of this remarkable area. For lunch, we will indulge in the delectable San Daniele prosciutto, Frico, and other authentic Friulian delicacies at a charming local restaurant. Following lunch, we will transfer to the vibrant city of Ljubljana, with a captivating stop at the illustrious Postojna Cave along the way.
